Alot people who followed Jesus during Jesus' times were amaze and curious about who Jesus really is. He was a very different kind of a teacher, a very special prophet. He say things that are different to what people think and people realizes that what he said has truth and power and appealing to their lives. So many flock to him mostly out of curiosity. He tells his disciples and the crowd that gathered about him that following him would involved denial of self and carrying one's cross. We wish to be counted among the followers of Jesus. But we find it difficult to renounce ourselves. And we would prefer if we could do away
with the cross. But you Lord, tell us that we can be truly alive if only we die to ourselves and live for others just as you did.
Help us, Lord, to be thus alive in you. Amen
