MONDAY 5TH WEEK OF LENT GOSPEL Jn 8:1-11

The Readings of today speak about two women who are accused of wrong doing. Susanna did not yield to evil intentions of the elders because she thought it better to die rather than sin. In the Gospel we see the woman caught in the act od adultry brought to Jesus. The law would have her stoned to death but Jesus tells the accusers to let the first stone be thrown by the one who has not sinned. This ruling of Jesus makes them drop the stones and quietly leave the place. The woman alone stays on and receives forgiveness of her sins. Today people are so busy naming, accusing and judging a person who who has gone wrong. The person who has done wrong is not going to repent except by the understanding and the forgiveness of the person who is involved in the act. Am I an understanding and forgiving person?
